Funerals and Celebration of Life

At one of the most challenging times in our lives we need to be able to say our good-byes to our loved ones in a way which truly celebrates their lives, which reflects perfectly their personalities and qualities so, wherever the final parting is taking place, whether a crematorium or burial ground. I work closely with your funeral directors to ensure that the individuality of your loved one is reflected and celebrated as they and you wish.

Everyone has a choice and option over their final farewell and whilst talking about a lost loved one may be emotional, together we can arrange the ceremony of your choice - following whatever path is required and as comforting and relaxed as possible for all involved.

I will help you to commemorate a life with sensitivity, respect and inclusion as we work together through this to recall the happy times. I can help with appropriate readings and music if required and will support you from our first meeting through every step of the way.
The funeral or memorial service can be as simple or extravagant as you wish, themed to reflect the person commemorated and an opportunity for friends and family to be involved as they wish.

There is little difference between a Funeral or Celebration of Life, but the title can create the ‘atmosphere’ Perhaps and Funeral is a little more sombre, traditionally people may choose to wear black or darker colours and the Eulogy may be a more chronological recount of the person’s life and there might be more religious content such as hymns and prayer or bible readings, whereas a Celebration of Life is more, just that, remember and celebrating the person with a lighter feel to the ceremony, clothing is usually more colourful, perhaps highlighting a favourite colour, music might be of a more varied genre, religious content can of course be included as wished but over all this style of farewell is more uplifting. There are choices at every turn and I’m more than happy to make every effort to accommodate your wishes. You do not have to hold a Celebration of Life in a Chapel, Crematorium, burial ground or such space, they can be held anywhere outside or in, the home or a funeral chapel without cremation facilities but remember that arrangements will need to be made for the Funeral Directors to transport the loved one to such facilities after the ceremony.

Memorial or Thanksgiving Ceremonies
These are a little different, as they tend to follow a private cremation or burial and take place in a venue such as a favourite hotel, a garden, or event venue, They can be joyous and have no time limit meaning that friends and family can all share their happy memories whist a Celebrant would act very much as Master of Ceremonies these can be a beautiful alternative to consider.
